About This Product

2027 Hyperlite Frother 2.0 Wakesurfer | True Twin Fin, Drive and Speed

The 2027 Hyperlite Frother 2.0 is back by demand with a new look, and it is the twin fin for riders who want speed down the line without a board that fights them. A wide rocket tail delivers the drive, and a distinctive tail rocker combines the float of a wide tail with the bite of sharp rails. Hyperlite rates it at the top of the 2027 range for carve.

Key Technical Features

  • Handmade Epoxy Construction: Hand-laid epoxy, not a pressed shell. It is what gives the Frother its springy feel and why it carries speed the way it does.
  • EPS Core with Wood Stringer: A buoyant EPS core with a full-length wood stringer. Float where you want it, and enough backbone that the board does not wash out when you drive off the rail.
  • Wide Rocket Tail: A broad, drawn-out tail that generates speed rather than just planing. Explosive off the bottom turn, and it holds pace through the dead spot behind the wake.
  • Unique Tail Rocker: Tail lift combined with a wide outline, which normally cancel each other out. Here it produces a board that floats like a wide tail but still feels loose.
  • Fins: Carbon & Fiberglass Custom Frother Fins, 4.5" (2): A true twin fin in FCS II toolless boxes. No key needed, so swapping setups on the boat is a genuinely quick job.

Why You'll Love It

Hyperlite's SKILL bar starts the Frother right at the beginner end and runs it to about two thirds — the widest low-end range of any surf-style board in the 2027 line, and a fair marker of how forgiving it is. The Push Meter reads 3/4 and the wave size is rated MED, so it does not need a monster wake, a genuine advantage on an average Australian tow boat. Who it isn't for: advanced riders chasing maximum hold and drive, who want the Moab. If you want it looser and poppier again, the Lobo is the shorter, livelier sibling.

Size Guide

  • 4'6": 20.9 litres · 19.5" wide · riders up to 86 kg
  • 4'8": 22.2 litres · 20" wide · riders up to 100 kg
  • 5'0": 24.3 litres · 20.5" wide · riders up to 113 kg

Rocker runs 3.5" tip and 0.75" tail on the two smaller sizes, and steps up to 3.8" tip and 0.9" tail on the 5'0". That extra nose lift is deliberate — more length needs more curve. Size down for a livelier board, up for float on a softer wave.

Quick Answers

Skim or surf?
Surf-style. Twin fins, a wide tail and real volume mean it drives rather than slides. To spin and ride switch, the Hi-Fi, Shift or Storm.

Frother or Accelerator?
Both are hand-built epoxy twin fins at the same price. The Accelerator has a swallow tail, winged rails and a much higher starting point on Hyperlite's skill scale. The Frother is rated MED on wave size rather than XLG, so it is the better bet on a smaller wake.

Is it a good first surf-style board?
It can be. Hyperlite's skill bar starts it at the very bottom of the scale, unusual for a hand-built twin. That said, the Broadcast and Landlock are cheaper and more forgiving if you have never ridden ropeless.

About Hyperlite

Hyperlite changed wakeboarding forever in 1991 when it built the world's first compression-molded wakeboard — and it's driven the sport's innovation ever since, from Biolite cores to the 0-G boot platform.

Today the range spans wakeboards, wakesurfers and boots, built for everyone from first-timers to the pros. It's the brand that wrote the rulebook, and keeps rewriting it.
