Everything about this fin, explainedOverview About this fin What it is, who it suits
The F2 Alpha is an extra-small sized thruster in the Neutral template category. Made in Huntington Beach, the Alpha product line now combines Bureo’s NetPlus recycled fishing nets with Futures’ Compound 6 (C6) carbon and air infused technology. The responsive flex characteristics of C6 combine with the neutral Legacy Series template to create one of the most exciting new products on the market.

Construction Alpha NetPlusMade from recycled fishing nets
A collaboration between Futures and Bureo. Recycled fishing nets combined with Futures carbon-and-air-infused Compound 6, moulded in California — upgrade-fin performance with a far lighter footprint.
Ride Number 6.0 · Balanced
Alpha NetPlus spans 4–6; this fin sits at 6.0.

Futures and Bureo
The initiativeDiscarded fishing nets are the most harmful form of plastic pollution in the ocean. Futures worked with Bureo to turn that waste into fins — the first surf fin made with recycled nets.

Impact
35,000kg and countingOver 800 million tonnes of fishing net are discarded into the ocean every year. Futures has already turned more than 35,000 kilograms of recovered net into Alpha NetPlus fins, cutting the demand for new plastic.

Compound 6
Carbon and air infusedDeveloped with 3M — lighter than Honeycomb and more resilient than a standard injection-moulded fin. Carbon for strength, air for lightness, in the most advanced injection material Futures makes.

Flat foil
Reliable and familiarThe most widely used foil in the range. Controlled and stable, good for late drops and stalling for the barrel, and predictable in every condition.

Precision tooling
Moulds cut in-houseFutures designs, cuts and polishes the Alpha moulds themselves in Huntington Beach. That level of control is what keeps the tolerances tight.

Ride Number 6.0 · Balanced How Futures rates every fin
Feel = Flex + Rake + Foil
Futures rates every construction on a 1–10 scale. Low numbers hold a predictable line and control your speed. High numbers generate speed and snap out of turns. Three physical properties combine to produce it, and they are not weighted equally — flex counts for the most, then rake, then foil.
Solid, engaged, predictable. Built for powerful conditions.
All-around. Drive, hold and looseness in equal measure.
Springy, fluid, responsive. Built to create speed from nothing.
Flex is how much the fin bends under load — soft generates speed, stable controls it. Rake is the sweep of the outline — upright turns tight, laid-back holds long. Foil is the cross-section — a V or V2 foil feels fluid, a flat foil feels engaged.
Sizing Which size am I? Sized to rider weight, not board length
Futures sizes fins to the surfer, not the board. Find your weight, then fine-tune with construction and template once you know your size.

The bands overlap on purpose. If you sit on a boundary, size up for more hold and drive, or down for a looser, easier-to-turn feel.
