Former Team 21" Trunk - Bark | The Long Leg
The Team 21" Trunk is the longest cut in Former's standard trunk range — a below-the-knee leg for anyone who has never got on with a short boardie. It runs a 90% nylon / 10% spandex four-way stretch, which is the better fabric of the two Former uses: nylon sheds water faster than polyester and stays light through a long session. Bark is a warm mid-brown that reads more like a walkshort than a trunk out of the water.
Key Technical Features
90% Nylon / 10% Spandex Four-Way Stretch: Nylon carries less water than a polyester trunk, so the extra leg length doesn't turn into extra weight. Stretch runs in every direction rather than just across.
Standard 21" Trunk Fit: Sits below the knee. The longest leg Former cuts in the Team block, and the one that doubles as a walkshort without looking like you've just come out of the water.
Signature Velcro Back Patch Pocket with Webbing and Eyelet: Sealed with velcro, reinforced with FORMER webbing, drained through an eyelet so it empties rather than holding water.
Fixed Waist, Metal Aglets and Elastic Key Loop: A fixed waist rather than elastic, so it holds its shape over a season. Branded metal drawcord aglets, and an internal elastic loop for a key.
Why You'll Love It
Pick this if leg length is the thing you actually care about — it's the trunk for taller riders, for anyone self-conscious in a 19", and for the days that start with a surf and end somewhere else. All levels. If you want something that gets out of the way on a turn, the Reynolds 19" is the short one. Fits true to size.

About Former
Former is a surf and skate apparel and media company founded by Craig Anderson, Dane Reynolds, Austyn Gillette and Dylan Rieder, and run out of Ventura, California. It is rider owned and independently operated — the names on the door belong to the people testing the product, shooting the films and signing off the graphics.
Two marks have anchored the brand since 2017: the Crux and the Legacy. They run through the Origin Collection and out across everything else Former makes, from 200GSM cotton jerseys and 320GSM brushed fleece to nylon ripstop trunks and heavy cotton workwear twill. The detailing is where the brand shows its hand — garment washes and pre-shrunk finishes as standard, embroidery where most labels would print, and branded metal hardware where most would settle for plastic.
Former is as much a film outfit as a clothing label. Projects like DEFECT and I Do Believe I'm Wishing, the documentary on team rider Shaun Manners, are made in house and put out online, which is a fair summary of how the whole thing runs: make it properly, release it, let it speak for itself.
