The Reynolds 21" Walkshort is Dane Reynolds' signature cut rendered in shorts — the same wide, baggy silhouette as the Reynolds pant, chopped to a 21" leg. It's built from 100% cotton workwear twill, not a stretch blend, which means it holds a shape rather than clinging: stiff for the first few wears, then it breaks in and stays broken in. Gunmetal is a cool mid-grey.

100% Cotton Workwear Twill: Proper twill weight — the kind that takes a knee-slide and a season of skating without going see-through. No elastane, so the fit you buy is the fit it keeps.
Reynolds Baggy Walkshort Fit: Wide through the thigh and straight down to a 21" leg. This is a deliberately loose short; if you want anything trim, this isn't it.
Double Workwear Pockets and Crux Woven Label: Reinforced double pockets built to the workwear pattern, with Former's Crux logo woven onto the back pocket rather than printed on.
Fixed Waist with Branded Metal Shank Button: A fixed waistband and a FORMER-branded metal shank button — the fastening that survives being sat on, unlike a stamped flat button.

This is a skate short more than a beach short — cotton twill soaks up water and takes an age to dry, so keep it out of the surf. Where it earns its place is everything either side: the shop, the park, summer days when jeans are too much. Suits anyone already riding a baggy fit up top. About Former
Former is a surf and skate apparel and media company founded by Craig Anderson, Dane Reynolds, Austyn Gillette and Dylan Rieder, and run out of Ventura, California. It is rider owned and independently operated — the names on the door belong to the people testing the product, shooting the films and signing off the graphics.
Two marks have anchored the brand since 2017: the Crux and the Legacy. They run through the Origin Collection and out across everything else Former makes, from 200GSM cotton jerseys and 320GSM brushed fleece to nylon ripstop trunks and heavy cotton workwear twill. The detailing is where the brand shows its hand — garment washes and pre-shrunk finishes as standard, embroidery where most labels would print, and branded metal hardware where most would settle for plastic.
Former is as much a film outfit as a clothing label. Projects like DEFECT and I Do Believe I'm Wishing, the documentary on team rider Shaun Manners, are made in house and put out online, which is a fair summary of how the whole thing runs: make it properly, release it, let it speak for itself.
