Former Elevate Crux T-Shirt - Black | The Lightweight One
The Elevate Crux T-Shirt is the lighter tee in Former's line β a 180GSM cotton jersey rather than the 200GSM used across most of the range. Twenty grams doesn't sound like much and it changes the shirt completely: this one drapes instead of standing away from you, and it's the black tee you'll actually keep on through a Melbourne February. Front and back Crux graphics in a soft-hand plastisol.
Key Technical Features
180GSM 100% Cotton Jersey: Deliberately lighter than Former's standard 200GSM. Cooler in summer and softer in the hand, at the cost of being slightly less opaque β the honest trade.
Front and Back Graphics, Soft Hand Plastisol: Printed both sides. Soft-hand plastisol lays thin, so the print flexes with the fabric rather than sitting on it as a panel.
Standard FORMER Fit, Pre-Wash Finish: The regular tee block, garment washed so it doesn't shrink on you. Fits true to size.
Why You'll Love It
The cheapest tee in this drop and the lightest β which makes it the summer one and the easy first Former buy. If you want something with more body to it that'll hold a boxier shape, the 200GSM Crux Overdye is the tee to take instead. Suits anyone; take your usual size.

About Former
Former is a surf and skate apparel and media company founded by Craig Anderson, Dane Reynolds, Austyn Gillette and Dylan Rieder, and run out of Ventura, California. It is rider owned and independently operated β the names on the door belong to the people testing the product, shooting the films and signing off the graphics.
Two marks have anchored the brand since 2017: the Crux and the Legacy. They run through the Origin Collection and out across everything else Former makes, from 200GSM cotton jerseys and 320GSM brushed fleece to nylon ripstop trunks and heavy cotton workwear twill. The detailing is where the brand shows its hand β garment washes and pre-shrunk finishes as standard, embroidery where most labels would print, and branded metal hardware where most would settle for plastic.
Former is as much a film outfit as a clothing label. Projects like DEFECT and I Do Believe I'm Wishing, the documentary on team rider Shaun Manners, are made in house and put out online, which is a fair summary of how the whole thing runs: make it properly, release it, let it speak for itself.
