About This Product

2027 Straightline Freestyle Ski Race Handle | Full Wrap, Locked In

Ski racing puts a load through your hands that no recreational pass comes close to, and a conventional slalom handle gives you nothing to hold onto when your grip starts going. The Freestyle handle answers that with full-wrap webbing β€” a continuous 50mm webbing loop that lets you brace your forearms into the handle instead of hanging off a bar.

Key Technical Features

  • 4in Full-Wrap Webbing: The wrap is the whole point β€” it takes load off your fingers and puts it through your forearms, which is what keeps you connected to the boat when a race pass is going long.

  • Neoprene Liner: Padding inside the wrap so the webbing doesn't cut in on a long run.

  • 22mm Handle Diameter: Deliberately thin. A narrow bar closes your hand further and reduces the grip force needed to hold it β€” the opposite call to a barefoot handle, and the right one for racing.

  • Full-Length 50mm Webbing: Made in one continuous length rather than stitched sections, so there's no weak point where the wrap takes load.

  • Five Colourways: Blue, Pink, Black, Burnt Orange and Lambo Green.

Why You'll Love It

Ski racers and anyone doing long, high-load passes. If you ski a slalom course or free-ski behind a family boat, a wrap handle is more handle than you need and harder to let go of in a fall β€” an Elevate or Team handle is the better tool. But if you race, the wrap is not a luxury; it's the difference between finishing the run and letting go.

About Straightline

Straightline has been building watersports ropes and handles since 1993, and in Australia the name is close to shorthand for the category β€” if there is a ski or wakeboard rope in the boat, there is a fair chance it says Straightline on it. The line covers slalom, wakeboard, wakesurf, kneeboard, barefoot and tube, from a $30 mainline through to tournament packages.

What the brand is actually known for is the unglamorous engineering: grip shapes that suit how hands give out, low-stretch cores that put the boat's pull where you asked for it, and floats and endcaps that still work after three summers. The Australian arm operates out of Echuca, Victoria, alongside sister brand Raptor, and supplies more than fifty specialist dealers nationwide. Shop the Straightline range now at Welcome Boardstore.
