2027 Raptor Severance Wakeboard | Skatey, Loose, Still Locked In
Loose boards wash out. That is the trade every freeride shape has to make, and it is the one Raptor's team went after with the Severance. A directional patterned glass layup stiffens the board through the middle while leaving the tips free to break away, so you get a skate-like feel edge to edge without giving up the hold you need when you load the line. It is the board in the Raptor range for riders who want to slide and butter one lap, then stomp a proper wake-to-wake the next.
Key Technical Features
- NXT 2 Core Construction: Raptor's toughest build, wrapping a PU core in a layup made to take repeat wake impacts without going soft halfway through the season.
- Progressive 3-Stage Rocker: Loads up as you edge in and releases hard off the lip — aggressive pop that stays predictable, and a landing that absorbs rather than jars.
- Exclusive Progressive Flex: Softer through the tips, stiffer underfoot. Presses and butters come easy while the middle of the board still drives through chop.
- Patterned Glass Layup: Directional glass placement is what makes the Severance loose without being vague — it controls where the board flexes instead of letting it flex everywhere.
- ABS Infused Polymer Edges: Sidewall material that shrugs off rail hits and dock knocks, the two things that end most wakeboards early.
- Removable Fins: Run them for grip while you are learning the board, pull them out when you want it skating free at the cable.
Why You'll Love It
This is an intermediate-to-advanced board. If you are still working on getting up and riding switch, the Severance will feel faster and looser than you want — start on something with a softer flex and more fin. But if you are carving hard, popping wake-to-wake and starting to think about surface tricks, this is the board that rewards it. Equally happy behind the boat or taking custom laps at the cable.

About Raptor
Raptor is the boardsports arm of Straightline Sports Co, an Australian family watersports business based in Echuca, Victoria. The range is built around what actually gets ridden behind an Aussie boat — kneeboards, wakeboards, wakeskates, wakesurfers, combo skis, slalom skis and towables — designed in-house by a team that rides the gear it draws.
The brand's reputation was built on kneeboards, where the Madhouse, Powerfish and Misfit are fixtures on lakes and rivers around the country, and it has since carried that same value-for-money thinking into wakeboards and skis. Raptor sits alongside sister brand Straightline, whose ropes and handles have been an Australian benchmark for decades. Stocked through more than fifty specialist dealers nationwide.
