About This Product
2027 Radar Carbitex Vector BOA Boot (Alum) | Carbitex Flex on an Alloy Plate
The 2027 Radar Carbitex Vector BOA Boot (Alum) takes the Carbitex OmniFlex upper and mounts it to an aluminium plate rather than the Feather Frame chassis, so it drops straight onto a standard insert pattern. You get the open toe fit range and the reactive carbon textile without committing to the integrated Feather Frame system — the sensible pick if you're upgrading boots on a ski that's already set up. This is the front boot.
Key Technical Features
- Carbitex OmniFlex: A flexible carbon fibre textile rather than a rigid panel. It transfers energy to the ski immediately while still allowing natural ankle movement, and it's the single thing separating the Carbitex Vector from the standard Vector BOA.
- Aluminium Plate: Mounts to a conventional insert pattern, so this boot fits skis that aren't running the Feather Frame system. Rigid underfoot, which keeps the input you put in from being lost in the mount.
- BOA Fit System: Micro-adjustable dial closure. Same fit every session instead of drifting the way laces do, and you can adjust it on the water with one hand.
- Wrap Tech Level 4: The highest wrap level in the Vector range — more material holding your foot to the plate, so less of your input is lost inside the boot.
- Moulded 3D Tongue and Symmetrical Fit: Symmetrical means it works as a front or rear boot and on either foot, which is why a pair covers more skiers than a closed-toe setup.
Why You'll Love It
Intermediate to advanced. Open toe suits you if more than one person rides the ski, or if your feet sit between sizes and a closed-toe boot has never quite worked. Take the alloy plate version if your ski isn't Feather Frame compatible, or if you want boots you can move between skis. If the ski is yours alone and you're chasing shortline, the closed-toe Vapor transmits more.
Size Guide
- Small: US 5–8 · UK 4–7 · EU 38–41 · JP 23–26
- Standard: US 7–11 · UK 6–10 · EU 40–45 · JP 25–29
- XL: US 10–14 · UK 9–13 · EU 42–48 · JP 28–32
Sizes overlap on purpose. On the boundary, go smaller for a firmer fit, larger if you share the ski.
Quick Answers
Aluminium plate or Feather Frame 2.0?
Same boot on top. The aluminium plate is stiffer underfoot and mounts to a standard insert pattern, so it suits a ski that's already set up or a boot you want to move between skis. Feather Frame 2.0 is lighter, sits you closer to the ski and pairs with the modular Radar rear system. New Radar ski, Feather Frame. Existing ski or mixed brands, aluminium.
Rear boot or ARTP behind it?
A rear boot is the most locked-in for two-feet-in course skiing. An ARTP is lighter, easier for foot-out starts and lets you slide your rear foot without re-drilling. Foot-out or casual, ARTP; two-feet-in, rear boot.
Will it fit my ski?
Yes — the aluminium plate mounts to a standard slalom insert pattern, so it fits Radar skis and most other brands, and it can be moved between skis.
