2027 Lib Tech Mayhem Sweetfish | The Ultimate Surf-Inspired Powder Predator
Green room meets the white room with the 2027 Lib Tech Mayhem Sweetfish. Born from a coffee-fueled collaboration between legendary surf shaper Matt Biolos, pro-shredder Austen Sweetin, and the Lib Tech experiMENTAL division, this board is a pure powder weapon. It’s designed to turn the entire mountain into a point break, offering an effortless, surf-style flow that makes deep days feel like a dream. Whether you’re popping pillows or slashing resort stashes, the Sweetfish delivers a level of agility and "froth" that most boards can only imagine.
Key Technical Features
-
Directional Camber + Early Rise Nose: This profile features powerful camber underfoot that transitions into a long, early-rise floaty nose.
-
Why it matters: You get the stability and "pop" of a traditional camber board for aggressive carving on the way to the stash, but as soon as you hit the deep stuff, that elongated nose acts like a hull to keep you planing on top without the back-leg burn.
-
-
Winged Swallowtail Design: By reducing the surface area in the tail, the board naturally sinks into soft snow.
-
Why it matters: This geometry automatically lifts the nose, allowing for lightning-fast, surf-style cutbacks and tight "slashes" in trees. It transforms your riding from surviving the powder to truly surfing it.
-
-
Power Kink Tail: A subtle "kink" or high-tension zone at the very end of the tail.
-
Why it matters: Unlike many powder boards that wash out at the end of a turn, the Power Kink provides a snappy, powerful exit to your carves on hardpack. It also offers a more stable platform for stomping landings in the "white room."
-
-
Radial Sidecut (No Magne-Traction®): In a bold move for Lib Tech, the Sweetfish ditches the serrated Magne-Traction® edges for a classic radial sidecut.
-
Why it matters: This provides a "purer" and more fluid carving sensation. Without the extra "bite" of serrations, the board feels incredibly smooth and predictable on edge, mimicking the clean lines of a surfboard on a glassed-out face.
-
-
OP (Original Power) Construction: A core blend of 75% Aspen and 25% Paulownia wrapped in Tri-Ax and Bi-Ax fibreglass.
-
Why it matters: It strikes the perfect balance between light weight and rugged durability. This construction is "environmentally nice" and provides a damp, chatter-free ride when you're charging through tracked-out chop at the end of the day.
-
Why You’ll Love It
The Lib Tech Mayhem Sweetfish is for the intermediate to expert rider who views the mountain through a surf-lens. It’s a "cliff-dropper and pillow-popper" that thrives in deep conditions but remains surprisingly capable when you're trenching carves back to the lift. If you want a board that prioritizes soul, style, and effortless float over clinical precision, this is the quiver-killer you’ve been waiting for.
