About This Product

2027 Hyperlite Women's Hi-Fi Wakesurfer | Skim Style, Tuned Mellower

The 2027 Hyperlite Women's Hi-Fi is new for 2027 and takes the most forgiving skim shape in the range down to a single, shorter length. Same exclusive DuraShell Construction, same EPS core, same flat tip and tail base design — but Hyperlite's own graphic rates it noticeably mellower than the standard Hi-Fi for both pop and carve, which is the honest reason to choose it.

Key Technical Features

  • DuraShell Construction: Hyperlite's exclusive compression-moulded shell. It resists heel denting, which is the single most common way a skim board starts looking tired after one season.
  • EPS Core: Light and buoyant. On a thin skim shape, float is what keeps the board on top of a softer section instead of sinking into it.
  • Flat Tip / Tail Base Design: Flat through both ends. Free speed, an easy spin, and switch riding that feels identical to regular — the three things that make skim style click.
  • Fully Machined EVA Traction: Machined traction across the whole deck rather than isolated pads. You can move your feet mid-trick and still find grip, which is exactly what skim riding demands.
  • Fins: .8" P-Wing (3): Three small P-Wing fins, the same setup as the standard Hi-Fi. Just enough tracking to line a trick up, little enough that the tail releases on command.

Why You'll Love It

Hyperlite's SKILL bar runs from the beginner end to about halfway, so this is a beginner-to-intermediate skim board. The genuinely useful detail is what the other two graphics say: pop and carve both sit clearly left of centre, and clearly below the standard Hi-Fi's readings, so this is the calmer, less reactive version of the shape. The Push Meter is full at 4/4 and the wave size is rated LRG. Who it isn't for: riders already comfortable on a skim board and chasing more, who want the Storm or the Raven. If you want the shape in a longer length, the standard Hi-Fi runs 4'5" and 4'8".

One length in the Australian range, 4'4". Hyperlite's 2027 dealer book prints this board an inch longer than the supplier range file does, and there is no separate Women's Hi-Fi page on Hyperlite's website, so no volume, width or rider-weight figure exists for it. We will not borrow the standard Hi-Fi's numbers — send us your weight and we will give you a straight answer.

Quick Answers

How is it different from the standard Hi-Fi?
Hyperlite prints identical copy for both boards, so the real difference sits in the graphics: the Women's Hi-Fi is rated meaningfully lower for pop and carve, and comes in one shorter length. Calmer and less reactive, same construction.

Is skim style harder to learn?
Yes, and we would rather say so. A thin, flat, small-finned board slides where a surf-style board drives. It takes more balance and gives you far more trick options once it clicks. If you have never ridden ropeless, start on a Broadcast or a Landlock.

What wave does it need?
Rated LRG on wave size with a full 4/4 push, so a decent, well-weighted wake. Skim boards generate their own speed, but they still need a face with shove in it to keep you in the pocket.

About Hyperlite

Hyperlite changed wakeboarding forever in 1991 when it built the world's first compression-molded wakeboard — and it's driven the sport's innovation ever since, from Biolite cores to the 0-G boot platform.

Today the range spans wakeboards, wakesurfers and boots, built for everyone from first-timers to the pros. It's the brand that wrote the rulebook, and keeps rewriting it.
