2027 Hyperlite State 2.0 Wakeboard | Hyperlite's Best-Selling Beginner Board

The 2027 Hyperlite State 2.0 is Hyperlite's best-selling beginner board, and the reason comes down to one design decision. It is asymmetrical: the toe-side rail is shorter than the heel-side, so holding a toe-side edge into the wake needs less pressure and swapping back to heels is a smaller movement. Shaped by Aaron Stumpf, with moulded-in fins, in four sizes.

Key Technical Features

• Asymmetrical Design: A shorter toe-side edge and a standard heel-side edge. Both the toe-side edge and the transition back to heels take less rail pressure, which is where most new riders come unstuck.
• Abrupt Continuous Rocker: An unbroken curve through the middle with a quicker rise at the ends. You keep your speed across the flats, and the release off the wake is predictable rather than a sudden kick.
• Molded In Fins: Two 1.3 inch Disorder fins formed into the base instead of bolted through it. Less drag, nothing to snap off, and a cleaner release off the wake.
• Molded-In Toe Side Footbed Risers: Risers built into the deck under each binding, tilting your feet toward the toe-side rail for leverage on the edge that is hardest to hold.
• Monocoque Construction & Layered Glass: Top and base laminates bonded into one shell over a Biolite 3 Core, so impact spreads across the board rather than loading one spot.

Why You'll Love It

Hyperlite's skill bar runs the State from zero to about 55 per cent of the scale. Its own catalogue heading calls it an all ability level shape; the graphic disagrees, and we will side with the graphic. This is a beginner to lower-intermediate board and the best one Hyperlite makes. Who it isn't for: the moment you are clearing the wake consistently and want height, the Sender or the Rage is next. Quick Answers

State 2.0 or Eden 2.0?
Same asymmetrical shape, same moulded-in fins, same beginner brief. The Eden runs Satin Flex, Hyperlite's women's-specific tuning, and stops at 135 cm. The State runs standard flex to 145.

State 2.0 or Sender?
Level, honestly. Hyperlite's skill bar tops the State out just past halfway; the Sender starts a quarter of the way up and runs to 90 per cent. Learn on the State, then move to the Sender when the wake stops being the hard part.

Which size, and do I need fins?
Go by weight: 45-68 kg the 130, 54-77 kg the 135, 68-91 kg the 140, 79 kg and up the 145. Fins are moulded into the base, so there is nothing to fit. Bindings are separate.
