About This Product

2027 Hyperlite Raven Wakesurfer | Competition Skim, Full Carbon

The 2027 Hyperlite Raven is new this season and the sharpest skim board Hyperlite builds. A competition shape on a flat rockerline with sharp rails, wrapped in full Carbon PVC Construction, and symmetrical end to end so it rides identically regular or revert. Hyperlite's own graphic rates it near the top of the 2027 wakesurf range for both pop and carve.

Key Technical Features

  • Carbon PVC Construction: Full carbon laminate over a PVC core. Light in the swing, with the fast rebound that lets a skim board recover between hits instead of bogging after the first one.
  • Flat Rocker Line and Sharp Rails: Almost no curve underfoot is where the speed comes from, and a hard rail edge is what controls it. You carry pace across the flats rather than pumping for it.
  • Symmetrical Outline: Nose and tail mirror each other, so revert riding feels the same as regular and combos link without a stance change to think about.
  • Swallow Pin Tail: A slightly widened fishtail on a pin outline. Drive and stability through a committed turn, without the drag a full swallow would add.
  • Fins: 1.25" Solo Skim Fin (1): One low-profile skim fin, and that is deliberate. Minimal hold means the tail breaks free exactly when you ask it to.

Why You'll Love It

Hyperlite's SKILL bar starts the Raven around 40% of the way up the scale and runs it to the expert end, which is an honest read: this is an advanced and competitive board and it will feel unforgiving under someone still learning to stay in the pocket. The Push Meter sits at 3/4 and the wave size is rated XLG, so it wants a big, well-shaped wake behind a properly weighted boat. Who it isn't for: first-time skim riders, who are far better served by the Hi-Fi or the Shift. If you want the same carbon tier in a less demanding shape, look at the Storm.

Two lengths in the Australian range, 4'3" and 4'5". Hyperlite prints a third, shorter Raven in the 2027 dealer book that is not part of the Australian range. No volume, width or rider-weight figures are published for the Raven by Hyperlite in any source we hold, so we are not going to invent them. Tell us your weight and how heavy your boat runs and we will size you.

Quick Answers

Skim or surf?
Skim, and at the serious end of it. One small fin, a flat base and sharp rails mean it slides and spins rather than holding a drive line. For drive down the line, the Moab or the Accelerator.

What wave does it need?
A big one. Hyperlite rates the Raven XLG on wave size with a 3/4 push rating, so it suits a well-weighted boat throwing a long, clean wake. On a short, steep wave you will spend the set chasing the pocket.

Raven or Storm?
Both are carbon skim boards. The Raven is the competition shape, symmetrical, with Hyperlite starting its skill range higher. The Storm runs Woven Carbon over a Nova Core and Hyperlite opens its skill range considerably lower, so it is the more forgiving of the two.

About Hyperlite

Hyperlite changed wakeboarding forever in 1991 when it built the world's first compression-molded wakeboard — and it's driven the sport's innovation ever since, from Biolite cores to the 0-G boot platform.

Today the range spans wakeboards, wakesurfers and boots, built for everyone from first-timers to the pros. It's the brand that wrote the rulebook, and keeps rewriting it.
