About This Product

2027 Hyperlite Moab Wakesurfer | Joey Harris Pro Model, Quad Fin

The 2027 Hyperlite Moab is Joey Harris's pro model and the most complete surf-style board in the 2027 line. Handcrafted epoxy over an EPS core and wood stringer, a deep concave for drive and control, and reverse tail channels that loosen the tail off. A true surf shape with a skate-like feel, rated at the very top of the range for pop and carve.

Key Technical Features

  • Handcrafted Epoxy Construction: Hand-laid epoxy over an EPS core with a wood stringer. Premium wakesurf construction, and the reason the Moab feels alive underfoot rather than damp.
  • Deep Concave: A pronounced concave through the belly funnels water and gives the board its drive and hold. On a wide, fast shape this is what stops it feeling skittish.
  • Reverse Tail Channels: Channels running the wrong way through the tail. They add speed and deliberately loosen the tail, so a board with this much hold can still be thrown sideways.
  • Large Grab Rail: A chunky moulded rail through the deck. Grabs land first time and stay put.
  • Quad Fin Setup: 4.5" Front (2) and 1.7" Drop (2): Custom carbon and fibreglass Moab fins, four of them. The big fronts drive, the drops add hold through the back half, and pulling the drops loosens it right up.
  • Machined EVA Corduroy w/ Kick Tail: Full corduroy traction with a raised kick tail, so your back foot finds the same place every time.

Why You'll Love It

Hyperlite's SKILL bar runs the Moab from around 30% of the scale to near the expert end, which reads as solid intermediate through advanced. It is not a first board. The Push Meter is full at 4/4 and the wave size is rated XLG, so it needs a big, hard-pushing wake to come alive — this is the most wave-hungry board in the 2027 range. Who it isn't for: anyone on a smaller boat, or still learning to ride ropeless — look at the Broadcast or Landlock. For the same tier looser and twin-finned, the Accelerator.

Size Guide

  • 4'6": 23.5 litres · 19.5" wide · riders up to 88 kg
  • 4'9": 25.14 litres · 19.8" wide · riders up to 102 kg
  • 5'0": 28.0 litres · 20" wide · riders up to 116 kg

Three sizes, with nearly five litres between the smallest and the largest. Rocker is 2.6" tip and 0.5" tail across all three. Between sizes, shorter rotates faster and longer holds speed through a slow section of wave.

Quick Answers

Skim or surf?
Surf, and a true one. Hyperlite calls it a true surf-style design with a skate-like feel — fair, for a quad-fin board that drives hard and still lets the tail go. Skim riders want the Raven, Storm or Hi-Fi.

What wave does it need?
A big one. The Moab is rated a full 4/4 for push and XLG on wave size. If your boat does not throw a long, hard wave, this board will feel like hard work.

Can I run it as a twin?
You can pull the two 1.7" drop fins and ride it on the 4.5" fronts alone. That frees the tail up noticeably for spins and slides. Put them back in when you want hold for a bigger carve.

About Hyperlite

Hyperlite changed wakeboarding forever in 1991 when it built the world's first compression-molded wakeboard — and it's driven the sport's innovation ever since, from Biolite cores to the 0-G boot platform.

Today the range spans wakeboards, wakesurfers and boots, built for everyone from first-timers to the pros. It's the brand that wrote the rulebook, and keeps rewriting it.
