About This Product

2027 Hyperlite Landlock Wakesurfer | Laid Back Soul Turns, Any Wave

The 2027 Hyperlite Landlock is built to catch a wave almost any boat can throw. At 5'9" it is by far the longest board in the range, with Hyperlite's softest and thickest rail and a concave top deck for a forgiving, laid-back turn. It is the board for a first ropeless session, for heavier riders, and for anyone who would rather draw a long line than throw an air.

Key Technical Features

  • Biolite 3 Core: Hyperlite's PU foam core wrapped in fibreglass. Damp, durable and tougher than the weight suggests.
  • Softest, Thickest Rail: Hyperlite's own claim, and the defining feature. A soft, thick rail rolls into a turn instead of catching, so a rider still finding their feet does not get spat off the front.
  • Concave Top Deck: A dished deck rather than a flat one. Your feet locate themselves without looking down, which is worth a great deal in the first few sets.
  • Single Concave Base: One concave through the base for a smooth surf feel and easy transitions. It keeps 5'9" of board tracking straight rather than wandering.
  • Fins: 1.5" Fish (2) & 2.4" Fish (1): A three-fin Fish setup. Plenty of hold, which on a longboard shape is exactly right — this board is meant to carve, not slide.

Why You'll Love It

Hyperlite's SKILL bar runs the Landlock from the beginner end to about 30%, so this is a first-board and cruiser shape, and the brand is upfront about it. The number that matters most is the Push Meter: at 2/4 this is the only board in the entire 2027 wakesurf range rated to work on a genuinely small wake, which makes it the obvious choice behind a boat that is not purpose-built for surfing. Who it isn't for: riders chasing airs and rotations, who want the Lobo or the Broadcast. Worth noting: Hyperlite's speed marker sits near the fast end despite the mellow pitch, and length is what carries it.

Size Guide

  • 5'9": 20.1 litres · 20.25" wide · riders up to 136 kg

One size, and it is a big one. Rocker runs 3.2" tip and 1.0" tail. The 136 kg rider ceiling is the highest of any 2027 Hyperlite wakesurfer by a clear margin, which is the other reason this board exists — larger riders are badly served by this category. Three fins included.

Quick Answers

What wave does it need?
The least of any board here. Hyperlite rates it 2/4 on push, where every other 2027 wakesurfer sits at 3/4 or full. If your boat throws a modest wave, or you are just adding ballast for the first time, this is the board that will still work.

Is it too big for a normal rider?
Not necessarily. Length is what makes a wave catchable, and a beginner of any size will get up and stay up on a Landlock faster than on anything shorter. You will outgrow it if you want to spin.

Landlock or Broadcast?
The Landlock is longer, softer-railed and rated for a smaller wave and a heavier rider. The Broadcast is shorter, comes in two sizes and has more in it for a rider who wants to progress toward airs. Same three-fin Fish setup on both.

About Hyperlite

Hyperlite changed wakeboarding forever in 1991 when it built the world's first compression-molded wakeboard — and it's driven the sport's innovation ever since, from Biolite cores to the 0-G boot platform.

Today the range spans wakeboards, wakesurfers and boots, built for everyone from first-timers to the pros. It's the brand that wrote the rulebook, and keeps rewriting it.
