2027 Hyperlite Journey Wakeboard | Bec Gange, Satin Flex

The 2027 Hyperlite Journey is Bec Gange's signature board and the Satin Flex answer to the Sender. Same forgiving package: a three-stage rocker for lift off any size wake, a Soft Landing Spine to break up the water, and a bevelled edge between the bindings so mistakes roll instead of catch. Three sizes cover groms through to adults.

Key Technical Features

• Biolite 3 Core: PU foam wrapped in fibreglass. It keeps the swing weight low, which matters more the lighter you are.
• Satin Flex: Hyperlite's women's-specific flex tuning. The board loads and releases at the edge pressure a lighter rider can actually generate, instead of needing a heavy rider to bend it.
• 3-Stage Rocker: A flat centre with a kick at each end, 2.85 inches across all three sizes. Load the edge and the wake sends you up rather than out.
• Soft Landing Spine: A raised spine down the base that splits the water on impact rather than slapping it flat.
• Fins: .8" P-Wing (4): Four 0.8 inch P-Wing fins included, on a flat fin mount that cleans up water flow and adds hold.

Why You'll Love It

Hyperlite's skill bar runs the Journey from near the beginner end, around 15 per cent, up to 85, so it genuinely starts low. This is a board you can learn on and keep. Its speed marker sits very high, and worth knowing, its pop marker sits mid-range despite what the printed copy claims, so buy it for how fast and forgiving it is rather than for raw height. Who it isn't for: if you want the Murray shape with Satin Flex and more drive off the wake, that is the Prizm. Riders over about 86 kg want the Sender, same platform, which runs to 144.

Both are Satin Flex boards. The Journey is built on the forgiving Sender platform: bevelled rail, Soft Landing Spine, three-stage lift. The Prizm shares the Murray shape, on a Subtle 3-Stage Rocker with no flat spot and more drive underfoot. Learning, Journey. Pushing, Prizm.

Journey or Sender?
Identical shape family, identical rocker figure, different flex. Satin Flex suits riders who cannot easily bend a standard deck. The Sender runs standard flex and goes out to 144 cm.

Will it work at a cable park?
Occasionally. It has fins and a standard deck, so laps are fine but rails and kickers will wreck it. For features, look at the Aries or the Impulse.
