2027 Hyperlite Impulse Wakeboard | The Way Into Park Riding

The 2027 Hyperlite Impulse is the entry point to Hyperlite's cable range, and the only board in it not built on a paulownia core. E-Core Construction and a continuous rocker at 2.55 inches make it the easiest of the six to ride, and Hyperlite rates it Flex Factor 5, the softest end of its own scale. Moving from boat laps to your first rails, this is the board.

Key Technical Features

• E-Core Construction: Hyperlite's core for this board, and the reason it sits at the bottom of the cable price list. Light and forgiving rather than exotic, the right call on a first park board.
• Continuous Rocker: An unbroken 2.55 inch curve. Speed carries across the flats and up the kicker, with no staged kick waiting to catch you out on a bad approach.
• 45 Degree Top Rail Bevel: The top rail is cut back at 45 degrees, shedding the edge that would otherwise catch on a rail, with concave through the belly and in the ends to lock onto a feature.
• Sintered Base & Urethane Sidewall: A sintered base holds wax and takes abuse; a urethane sidewall absorbs the side-on hits a park board takes.
• Flex Factor 5: On Hyperlite's 1 to 5 cable scale, 1 is a standard flex and 4 and 5 are the softest, most pressable shapes. The Impulse sits at the top with the Pleasure and Aries.

Why You'll Love It

Beginner to intermediate at the cable, and Hyperlite says as much on its own site. A continuous rocker and a Flex Factor 5 make it the most forgiving board in the park line, and at the lowest price in the range it is the sensible place to start before you commit more money. Who it isn't for: it has neither the reinforced deck of the Guara nor the paulownia core of the Bloodline, so if you already ride hard, buy one of those. Behind a boat, the Sender.

Quick Answers

Impulse or Pleasure?
Both are Flex Factor 5. The Pleasure runs a fully machined Woodlite paulownia core across five sizes; the Impulse runs an E-Core and costs less. New to the park, start on the Impulse. Riding every weekend, the Pleasure lasts better.

Impulse or Forge?
Flex Factor 5 against 3. The Impulse is soft, forgiving and presses easily. The Forge is the firmest cable board Hyperlite makes, for a rider who wants it to hold its line under load.

Can I ride it behind the boat?
Occasionally, for laps. It has no fins listed and a cable rockerline, so it will not hold an edge into a wake the way a boat board does. Mostly boat riding, buy a boat board.
