The 2027 Hyperlite Good Daze is Hyperlite's ladies and girls specific wakesurfer, redesigned this season. A fast rocker lets it carry speed anywhere on the curl, and a shorter profile makes it genuinely manoeuvrable for rotations and airs. A hybrid shape that borrows from both skim and surf, and it comes in a junior length as the Good Daze Jr.

Key Technical Features

• DuraShell Construction: Hyperlite's compression-moulded shell, which keeps its shape and finish through a season of being stood on and stacked in a locker.
• Fast Rocker Line: Curve tuned for speed rather than lift. The Good Daze holds pace right across the curl, including through the flatter section where a slower board would fall out of the pocket.
• Concave Center: A concave running through the middle of the board, which adds speed and control at once. It is what keeps a short, loose shape from feeling twitchy.
• Drop In Center Fin: The 2.9" centre fin drops in without a key, so you can change the board's character on the water in seconds. In for hold, out for a looser, spinnier feel.

Why You'll Love It

Read the graphic rather than the paragraph here. Hyperlite's printed copy calls the Good Daze a board for intermediate to advanced riders, but its own SKILL bar only runs from the beginner end to about 30% of the scale — which puts it squarely as a beginner-to-improver board. We would trust the bar. The Push Meter reads 3/4 and the wave size is rated MED, so it does not demand a huge wake. Who it isn't for: riders already landing rotations consistently, who want the Shim or a surf-style Lobo. Progressing riders will get more out of it than experts will.

Three lengths, with the 3'9" sold as the Good Daze Jr. Note that Hyperlite's website still lists an older fin package; the 2027 dealer book specifies two 3.5" Torq fins and the 2.9" drop-in centre, and that is what we have quoted. Between sizes, up for stability, down for rotation.

Quick Answers

Skim or surf?
Hybrid. It carries skim characteristics in the flat, fast rocker and surf characteristics in the thruster fin setup and rounded outline. That combination is what makes it a good board to work out which style you actually prefer.

Good Daze or Shim?
They share construction, fins and much of the shape language. The Good Daze is Hyperlite's ladies and girls specific version and runs to 4'7", while the Shim runs longer to 5'3" and is rated fractionally higher on the skill and pop scales.

What does the drop-in centre fin actually change?
A lot. With it in, the board holds a line and drives through a carve. Pull it out and the tail lets go for spins and slides. It takes seconds and needs no tools.
