The 2027 Hyperlite Capitol is Cory Teunissen's pro shape on Hyperlite's Biolite 3 Core, built for the same explosive riding as the Loaded version at roughly half the money. A Blended 3-Stage Rocker delivers the pop, sharp exit channels release the tail cleanly, and a Dual Concave Base in the belly holds speed through a carve and on the approach to the wake.

Key Technical Features

• Biolite 3 Core: Hyperlite's PU foam core in a fibreglass wrap. Light in the swing, damp underfoot, and considerably tougher than the weight suggests.
• 12K Carbon Stringer - Top & Base: Carbon laid into both laminates, adding stiffness along the board's length so a hard edge turns into lift rather than flex.
• Blended 3-Stage Rocker: The transitions between the flat section and the kick are smoothed out, so the board keeps drive across the flats while still going vertical off the wake.
• Sharp Exit Channels Tip & Tail: Channels cut into the ends of the base. They break the suction as the board leaves the water, which is what makes the release feel quick and clean.
• Minimum Swing Weight Profile: Material pulled out of the tip and tail, so the board is easy to throw and easy to stop. Edge-to-edge transitions cost you almost nothing.

Hyperlite's skill bar runs the Capitol from about a quarter of the way up the scale to 90 per cent, so it opens further down than the Capitol Loaded and still has room at the top: a genuine progression board with a pro shape underneath. Pop is rated near the top of the range, speed deliberately mid. Who it isn't for: if you are still working on getting over the wake, the State 2.0 or the Sender is a friendlier place to learn. Hyperlite's spec sheet and its 2027 catalogue name this board's rockerline differently, so we have quoted the catalogue's Blended 3-Stage and left the rocker height out rather than pick a side. Board only, four .7 inch beam fins included, bindings separate on M6 inserts.

Both are aggressive boat boards at the same price. The Capitol runs a blended three-stage with sharp exit channels and a lower speed rating. The Rage runs a classic three-stage, sits higher for speed and asks more of your edge. Capitol for timing and spins, Rage for raw height.

Capitol or Capitol Loaded?
Same shape, same sizes. The Loaded adds a PVC 100 core and two 3mm fibreglass rods, and Hyperlite starts its skill bar halfway up the scale rather than a quarter. Buy the Capitol first.

Which size should I be on?
64-86 kg is the 139 and 73-95 kg is the 143. In the overlap, the shorter board spins easier and the longer one lands softer.
