The 2027 Hyperlite Broadcast is the board that gets a whole boat surfing. Key Technical Features

• Biolite 3 Core: Hyperlite's PU foam core wrapped in fibreglass. Light in the swing, damp underfoot and considerably tougher than the weight suggests — which matters on the board everyone in the boat will ride.
• Dual Concave Base: Twin channels through the base funnel water for speed and edge control. It is the main reason a forgiving shape like this still feels quick rather than sluggish.
• New Rocker Line: Reworked curve for 2027. It lets beginners hold the sweet spot of the curl while giving stronger riders something to push against off the bottom.
• Monocoque Construction & Layered Glass: Deck and base laminates bonded into a single shell, with the glass layered to tune flex. Impact spreads across the board rather than loading one point.
• Fins: 1.5" Fish (2) & 2.4" Fish (1): A three-fin Fish setup in the box. Real hold for a rider still learning to stay in the pocket, and enough drive for someone who is not.

Why You'll Love It

Hyperlite's SKILL bar runs the Broadcast from the beginner end to about a third of the way up, so it is honestly a beginner-to-improver board — the dealer book's own claim that advanced riders can air it out is a stretch against its own graphic. The Push Meter reads 3/4 and the wave size is rated MED, so a mid-sized wake is enough. Who it isn't for: riders chasing technical tricks, who want the Buzzmatic or a hybrid Shim. If your wave is genuinely small or your rider is heavy, the Landlock is the better call.

• 4'8": 12.1 litres · 21.25" wide · riders up to 86 kg
• 5'4": 15.8 litres · 22" wide · riders up to 113 kg

Two sizes, and note an inconsistency in Hyperlite's own dealer book: its size list prints 5'2" while its part-number list prints 5'4". The supplier range file carries 5'4", so that is what we are selling. Rocker runs 2.6" tip and 0.82" tail on the 4'8", and 2.9" tip and 0.89" tail on the 5'4".

Quick Answers

Skim or surf?
Hyperlite does not badge it either way in the 2027 book, but the three-fin Fish setup, rolled rail and dual concave base all put it on the surf side. It drives rather than slides. Skim riders want the Hi-Fi or Shift.

Is it really an all-abilities board?
For learning and cruising, yes — it is one of the easiest boards here to get up on. For advanced riding, less so: Hyperlite's own skill graphic stops around a third of the way up the scale, whatever the paragraph says.

Broadcast or Gromcast?
Same construction, same fins, same family. The Gromcast is the 3'9" kids' version with a wider profile and a shorter outline. If the rider is under about 50 kg, the Gromcast. Above that, the Broadcast.
