The 2027 Hyperlite Accelerator is a modern read on a classic wakesurf outline. A high-performance twin fin with a wide swallow tail that makes getting above the lip almost effortless, plus double wings on each rail for the grip a twin setup otherwise gives up. Hyperlite rates it at the top of the range for speed, pop and carve together.

Key Technical Features

• Handcrafted Epoxy Construction: Hand-laid epoxy rather than a pressed shell. It is the reason a board like this flexes and rebounds the way a real surfboard does.
• EPS Core with Wood Stringer: A light EPS core with a wood stringer running its length. The stringer is what stops a fast board feeling vague when you load the rail hard.
• Wide Swallow Tail: A broad swallow releases water cleanly off two points instead of one. It is why the Accelerator gets above the lip so easily and settles back down without catching.
• Double Wings on Each Rail: Two steps cut into each rail. They break the rail line into shorter working sections, which adds grip and gives a twin fin the stability it usually lacks.
• Fins: Carbon & Fiberglass Custom Accelerator Fins, 4.5" (2): A true twin setup in Futures boxes, in carbon and fibreglass. Drive off the bottom, and enough release at the top to keep the turn going.

Why You'll Love It

Hyperlite's SKILL bar runs the Accelerator from about a quarter of the way up to near the expert end — an intermediate-to-advanced board that punishes hesitation and rewards commitment. The Push Meter reads 3/4 and the wave size is rated XLG, so a well-weighted boat is not optional. Who it isn't for: riders learning to hold the pocket, who want the Broadcast or the Buzzmatic. If you like the surf-style idea but want four fins and more hold, the Moab is the board. If you want it looser, the Lobo.

Size Guide

• 4'4": 19.74 litres · 19" wide · riders up to 73 kg
• 4'8": 24.71 litres · 20.5" wide · riders up to 100 kg

Two sizes. Rocker runs 3.2" tip and 0.63" tail on the 4'4", and 3.44" tip and 0.67" tail on the 4'8". The jump between them is large — five litres and an inch and a half of width — so if you sit between the weight ranges, tell us how your boat is weighted and we will point you at the right one.

Quick Answers

Skim or surf?
Surf-style, and one of the most drive-focused shapes in the range. Twin fins, a swallow tail and winged rails all point the same way: down the line, fast. Skim riders want the Storm, Shift or Hi-Fi.

Accelerator or Moab?
Fin count. The Accelerator is a true twin, so it is looser and faster to release at the top of a turn. The Moab runs four fins and holds harder through a committed carve. Both are hand-built epoxy boards at the same price point.

Do the fins come with it?
Yes, two 4.5" carbon and fibreglass Accelerator fins in Futures boxes. Hyperlite's website lists a pair of drop fins as well; the 2027 dealer book does not, and we have quoted the dealer book.
