About This Product

2027 HO Omni Ultra Slalom Ski | The Carbon Crossover

The 2027 HO Omni Ultra is the Omni with the materials turned up. A new PVC foam core under modern carbon laminates makes it lighter and sharper than the fibreglass Omni, and it carries the Syndicate adjustable fin rather than a fixed one. Same crossover intent, a good deal more ski.

Key Technical Features

  • New PVC Foam Core: New for 2027. Lighter and stiffer than the polyurethane core in the standard Omni, which is what lets the ski hold a harder edge without more length.
  • Modern Carbon Laminates: Second-generation carbon Omni. Carbon gives you response and less weight to swing, at the cost of some of the forgiveness glass provides.
  • 4-Stage Rocker Line: Dual flat spots for stability and acceleration, the same rocker thinking that runs through the whole 2027 Omni family.
  • Clean Edge Tail: HO measure it at 50 per cent less drag. Acceleration without having to drive the ski as hard through the finish.
  • High Volume Concave and Larger Bevels: Hold and forgiveness from the concave, stability and acceleration from the bevels. This is what keeps a carbon ski usable in chop.
  • Syndicate Adjustable Fin: The adjustable fin from the tournament skis, with a 7 degree wing, rather than the fixed Omni fin. It can be properly dialled in.

Why You'll Love It

HO call this their top-end crossover, and that is a fair description. It is quick and precise enough to run a course seriously, and efficient enough to free ski open water without feeling like hard work. If you have outgrown the standard Omni and are not ready to commit to a tournament ski, this is the step. Who it isn't for: a beginner should stay on the glass Omni, which forgives far more. A dedicated course skier chasing short line wants a Works or the Omni Pro.

Size Guide

  • 65": riders up to about 68 kg · 65.02" long · 6.92" wide
  • 67": riders 68-91 kg · 66.89" long · 7.12" wide
  • 69": riders 91-113 kg · 68.78" long · 7.32" wide

Weights converted from HO's published pounds. Their factory chart and their website differ slightly on the 65 and the 69; we have used the website figures. Go longer if you sit between two. Sold as a ski only, blank, with the Syndicate adjustable fin fitted; the Stance plate range fits it.

Quick Answers

Omni Ultra or Omni?
Materials. The Ultra runs a PVC foam core with carbon laminates and the adjustable Syndicate fin. The Omni is glass over polyurethane with a fixed fin: heavier and less sharp, but more forgiving and tougher.

Which size should I be on?
Up to about 68 kg the 65, from 68 to 91 kg the 67, and 91 to 113 kg the 69. In an overlap, longer starts easier and is steadier at speed.

Can I run a course on it?
Yes, that is half of what it is for. HO build it as a crossover, so it will run buoys and still be efficient free skiing on open water.

About HO Sports

HO Sports has been building water skis in the United States since 1958 — the oldest name still making them, and the brand behind a long run of firsts in slalom design.

The range runs from the Syndicate tournament skis ridden at the top of the sport down to the crossover and trainer shapes that get families up on the water. Same shaping room, same testing lake, whichever end you buy from.
