Collection: SNOW SKIS

Welcome Boardstore stocks one of Australia's best ranges of snow skis for men, women, and kids — covering every style of skiing from groomed resort carving to all-mountain freestyle and powder. Whether you're a beginner looking for a forgiving all-mountain ski or an advanced skier chasing a high-performance freeride setup, we have the right ski for your ability and the conditions you ride in. Our range includes top brands like Rossignol, Faction, Elan, K2, and Head, with expert advice available in store at Mornington.

Not sure what to buy? As a general rule, your ski length should sit somewhere between your chin and the top of your head. Shorter skis are easier to turn and better for beginners; longer skis provide more stability at speed and better float in powder. Many of our carving and all-mountain models are sold as system skis with bindings included — check individual product pages for details, or browse ski bindings separately for freeride and park setups.

Shop by gender and age: men's snow skis, women's snow skis, and kids' snow skis. Complete your setup with ski boots, ski bindings, and ski poles. Fast express shipping Australia-wide, or visit us in store on the Mornington Peninsula for a hands-on fitting.

FAQ's

How do I choose the right length for snow skis?

As a general rule, your snow skis should measure somewhere between your chin and the top of your head when standing upright. Shorter skis (closer to your chin) are easier to turn and better for beginners, while longer skis (closer to the top of your head) provide more stability at high speeds and better float in powder for advanced skiers.

What is the difference between all-mountain skis and park skis?

All-mountain skis (like the Rossignol Experience or K2 Mindbender) are designed to do a little bit of everything—they carve well on hardpack snow but have enough width to handle fresh powder. Park skis (like the Faction Prodigy) have a "twin-tip" design, meaning both the front and back of the ski are curved upwards. This allows freestyle skiers to ride, land, and take off backward (switch) in the terrain park.

Do these snow skis come with bindings?

It depends on the specific model! Many of our carving and all-mountain skis, such as the Rossignol Forza and the Head Shape e-V5, are sold as "system skis," meaning they come with bindings included in the price. However, wider freeride skis and park skis (like Candide Skis or the Rossignol Super Blackops) are usually sold "flat," meaning you will need to purchase your ski bindings separately. Check the product descriptions for exact details.

How to wax Snow Skis ?

Welcome Boardstore offers waxing and repair services in store, but if you want a fresh coat of wax at home follow the steps below.

Waxing your skis helps them glide smoothly, protects the base, and improves overall performance. Follow these steps for a proper ski waxing:

What You’ll Need:

✅ Ski wax (temperature-specific or all-purpose) Example: Toko Natural Universal Snow wax
✅ Waxing iron (NOT a regular clothing iron) example: Toko T8 wax iron
✅ Plastic scraper Example: Swix Plastic scraper
✅ Nylon and/or brass brush Example: SWIX T 157B Horsehair Brush
✅ Clean cloth

Step-by-Step Guide:

1. Prepare Your Skis

• Place skis on a workbench or ski vise with the bases facing up.
• Clean the base with a cloth or base cleaner to remove dirt and old wax.

2. Melt & Apply Wax

• Heat the waxing iron to the correct temperature (avoid overheating).
• Hold the wax against the iron and let it drip onto the ski base in a zigzag pattern.
• Spread the melted wax evenly by running the iron smoothly over the base.

3. Let the Wax Absorb

• Allow the wax to cool for at least 30 minutes so it penetrates the ski base.

4. Scrape Excess Wax

• Use a plastic scraper to remove excess wax, working from tip to tail.

5. Brush & Polish

• Use a nylon brush to remove leftover wax and improve glide.
• Finish with a soft cloth for extra polish.

Your skis are now waxed and ready to hit the slopes!
