Collection: Pyzel

Jon Pyzel's journey into surfboard shaping began in 1992 when he moved to the North Shore, drawn by the allure of better waves and warmer waters. Initially working at the Country Surfboards factory near Sunset Beach, he started by fixing dings and glassing boards. Inspired by his friend and mentor, North Shore shaper Jeff Bushman, Jon began shaping surfboards, eventually landing his first ghost shaping job under Bushman's guidance. Over the past two decades, Pyzel Surfboards has become a leading name in high-performance surfboard design, with Jon's boards being favored by many of the world's top surfers, including John John Florence, Kelly Slater, and Kai Lenny. Pyzel's reputation for excellence was cemented when his boards won the prestigious Stab In The Dark shaping competition two years in a row, chosen by Dane Reynolds and Jordy Smith as the best among the world's top shapers. Today, Jon continues to shape and surf daily from his beach house on the North Shore, traveling globally to share his craft with surfers around the world.
