Founded by Brian Cregan in 1979 at Sussex Inlet, NSW, Australia, Ocean & Earth began as a solution to a personal need. As a professional surfer, Brian sought to support his surfing and travel lifestyle without a conventional job. Instead, he channeled his skills and passion into creating Ocean & Earth, starting with a surfboard leash.

Driven by his experience of a broken leg rope from a surf competition, Brian, already a qualified carpenter and skateboard maker, set out to create a better product. His innovation laid the foundation for what would become a renowned surf accessories company. From these humble beginnings, Ocean & Earth has grown into a trusted name in surf gear, blending practical design with the spirit of adventure.
