K2 started on Vashon Island, Washington, in the early 1960s when the Kirschner brothers wrapped fibreglass around a ski and accidentally built an American ski company. The snowboard side came later; the ski side never left. Mindbender, Disruption, Recon, Maysis — those names are on Australian hills every winter for a reason.
