The Proto is Creatures' flagship performance pad, co-designed with World Champions Mick Fanning and Italo Ferreira:

How to Choose the Right Traction Pad

• Kick height — Higher kicks (35–36mm) give more leverage for powerful turns. Lower kicks (28–30mm) suit a more natural, closer-to-board feel for small waves and progressive surfing.
• Arch bar — Higher arch bars (10–11mm) provide more foot support and heel lock. Lower arch bars (7–8mm) suit surfers who prefer a flatter, more neutral platform.
• Tail shape — Pin tail pads have a narrower profile for pintail and step-up boards. Standard pads suit squash, round, and swallow tails. Check your board's tail width before choosing.
• Pieces — 3-piece pads are the standard for shortboards. 5-piece pads (Ethan Ewing Lite) add a stomp pad for extra coverage.
• Grom sizing — If your board is under 5ft, choose a Grom-specific pad for the right fit.
