Hello everybody, Chris O'Shea from WelcomeSnow.com and this is the 2021 Salomon Assassin Pro.
Assassin Pro this year is looking pretty stealth with this matte black sort of finish through the tail - has like some little speck through there. I'm not sure if you can pick it up. And then, it goes into like a gloss finish through the top and popin' Salomon Orange base. It's an All-Mountain freestyle board so you can rip it in the park and you can really do it everything on this mount--on this board really really well.
It's a step up from the regular Assassin in the line which is a great All-mountain Board but what they've done to this board is they've stiffened it up and they've also added faster base and then also some other stringers and core features in this board that will make it more snappy and more lively.
Same as the regular Assassin in the way of the shape, it is what they have their flat camber that Salomon do. So, the camber is going to run to just outside the inserts on this bad boy then it's gonna come down and have an early lift and then the camber in the middle of this board is flat.
So has quite a lot of pop. It is a 6 out of 10 flex I believe. So maybe even a 7 for this for this guy. So it is quite an aggressive flexing board. One thing I would say when you purchase a board like this, it's good to have a look at what bindings you are putting on a board like this.
So, we have-- I see a lot of people putting say like lower end bindings on a high-end board and the trouble with that is the board's gonna feel stiffer than it is if you put a stiff binding on it. So, something to think about is when you start stepping up to these sort of boards, think about putting like a Union Force Binding or something that has a good amount of stiffness rating to it.
If you go and put say, a Flite Pro which is like a really soft binding on a board like this. You're really not doing yourself any favours to being able to control this board the way you need to to make it ride and get its full potential out of it. And yeah, obviously the base sintered base so it's fast, I think I already said that. And yeah it's just a good looking slick board, 2021 Assassin Pro. Get around it!
