Top 3 Entry-Level Snowboards: Capita, Yes, & Salomon
Share
What's up guys, today we're having a look here at Welcome Board Store at the top three entry-level boards you should have your eyes on. On this side, we’ve got the Capita Space Metal Fantasy, which is a great board for the girls. It can also be ridden as a park board. A lot of people like it because it’s really jibby, but that said, it is really easy to ride because you can see it just has this nice flat section in the board diagram right there.
Yeah, super flat, which flat boards are your most consistent, and then it lifts out through the ends. It’s nice and wide, so it's stable underfoot—just a really easy board to learn on and has a really nice flex. If you’re just getting started, you can’t go past the Space Metal Fantasy.
Then we have the Yes Basic. You’ve got the girls' graphic and the guys' graphic. That said, we’ve had heaps of girls this year go with the black because they’re not into the white, so both of them work. These size right down into girl sizes as well as this graphic right here. Same board—the Yes Basic is good for all abilities and good for all conditions because it has a very easy, low camber profile between the feet, so it's not too aggressive. It lifts out with rocker through each end, giving you a board that’s not too catchy while you’re learning, but also giving you that little bit of stability.
So when you start getting it on edge and learning to carve, you get a bit of energy in that carve with that camber profile. It’s a twin, so if you don’t know which way to ride, it’s going to ride the same both ways, which is a good place to start with your first board. With the rocker profile at the tail, if you’re learning to ride powder, it’ll work for that too. The Yes Basic is an all-rounder you should definitely take a look at, with a lifetime warranty on all Yes boards.
Next, we have the Salomon Sleepwalker. This would be a board that you’ll see tons of guys on the team riding as a jibby board. It could be a first board to learn on as well because it’s really forgiving. It has a camber profile between the feet and then lifts out with rocker, similar to the Yes Basic, but it’s probably a little bit narrower, so it’s more nimble.
Maybe a slightly lighter, smaller rider might go for this one. If you’re a bigger, heavier rider, you might want to look at the Basic.
So yeah, those are our top three picks for entry-level boards this year—2024 snowboards.
