Hey guys, today we're going to take a look at Bataleon snowboards and the best models that we pick for your upcoming travel this summer. We have the Goliath+ the regular Goliath and the Beyond Medals, three boards that we suggest for that guy or girl who wants a board that does everything well. You can ride it in Australia or overseas.
With the Goliath+ , it's a twin directional board, and you'll see on this scale right here that it excels in the park, at the resort, and in powder. One of the reasons for that is the unique nose. They have the Free BT, which gives you a board with more surface area in the nose, making it great for shovelling out the good snow. It also has a full camber profile that runs from tip to tip, giving you edge and pop and providing a lot of rail line on the snow, so it holds well.
The unique thing about Bataleon boards is the triple-based technology, which allows the board to roll and initiate the rail on hardpack, but you still get the pop of a full camber board without being too catchy, thanks to the transition in the edges. The Goliath is an absolute killer and has a slam-back feature, with extra inserts for deep snow, so you can set the binding back or ride it neutral depending on the conditions.
The regular version has a 6/10 flex rating, and if you want something stiffer or have a heavier riding style, you can go for the plus version, which has a 7/10 flex rating. The Goliath is one of the best all-rounders on the market, loved by many.
Next, we have the Bataleon Beyond Medals, which excels as an all-mountain board. It's not as focused on park riding due to the tail setup but performs great for all-mountain shredding. The deeper sidecut radius provides a more carvy feel on the edge. Like the Goliath, it has the slam-back feature, so it’s versatile for both Australian and overseas conditions.
In terms of sizing, you can ride these boards with regular sizing—156 would be my size. There's no need to size up or down too much. Beyond Medals crew also produces some of the best snowboarding videos out there, and this is their flagship pro model from Bataleon. Definitely a board to consider for this travel season.
