New YES Snowboards: Halldor and AirMaster
Share
What's up guys, Chris from Welcome Board Store. Today we're taking a look at two new boards added to the YES line. YES has essentially merged with Lobster.
Halldor, one of the best riders, has his own brand, Lobster, and Fridge is on there as well. You might recognize the Lobster logo, but now essentially Lobster is part of YES, and we get these two new models that look pretty radical.
The Halldor model, we'll start with that one, has these wicked, wild, old-school kind of kick noses. Pretty radical. It's a full camber board, and then it has 3BT, which we've only ever seen in Lobster and Bataleon boards before. 3BT essentially gives you more surface area, shovels out the snow, and gives you a really cool feeling, like rolling rail to rail.
The Halldor model is definitely geared more toward all-mountain riding, charging all over the mountain. Obviously, you can still take it in the park, but it's just a little bit narrower and a little bit more aggressive than the Fridge model.
Fridge's model is quite wide. Normally, I'd ride the Halldor around 156 or 157, but in this model, because it's so wide, you drop down to 154. It's a true camber board with 3BT, which has a little bit wider area there and a longer canard profile, so you're going to get a bit more edge hold than you do on the Halldor.
So, if you want to go a little bit shorter and wider, both of these are freestyle all-mountain boards. I'd say the Fridge model is probably better if you want a little more pop, but both are versatile enough to do everything on them. Pretty exciting!
You've also got AirMaster, designed for sending it all out, while Halldor is a little more geared toward mountain riding. So, two very exciting new models for YES snowboards. Check out Halldor and Fridge—get around them!
