How To Choose the Right Snow Ski Length for You or Your Child

Choosing the right snow ski length involves more than just your height and weight. Other factors like snow conditions, terrain, ski type, and personal preference also play a role. As a general rule, snow skis should be between your chin and the top of your head.

Check out the diagram below for some guidance on how long your snow skis should be. If you have any further questions, feel free to come in-store and speak to our expert staff!

Go Shorter (closer to your chin) if:

  • You're a beginner to intermediate skier
  • You want your skis to be easier to maneuver
  • You like making short quick turns
  • You're skiing in the terrain park

Go Longer (top of your head or slightly above) if:

  • You're an advanced or expert skier
  • You like skiing fast or off-piste
  • Your ski has a lot of rocker

For children:
Follow these steps to select the right size:

  1. Check their height and weight.
  2. If between two sizes, adjust based on weight. Go shorter if they’re light or beginner, longer if they’re heavier or advanced. Avoid sizing up too much as we do not recommend going longer than your child's suggested size range
