Design and Construction

The Beyond Medals features a directional twin shape with an elongated nose and squared-off tail, enhancing float in powder while maintaining switch capabilities. Its medium camber profile, complemented by Bataleon's Triple Base Technology (3BT™) and SideKick™ tips, offers responsive edge control and smooth turn initiation. The board's Ultra Light Core, a 70/30 blend of paulownia and poplar, ensures strength without added weight, while carbon stringers and Dual Super Tubes amplify pop and precision.

Board Type: All Mountain

All Mountain snowboards are versatile boards that excel across various terrains, from groomed runs to off-piste. These boards offer solid edge control and responsiveness, making them a great option for riders who want one board to do just about everything.

Flex: 7/10 (1=soft, 10=stiff)

Offering a balanced blend of flexibility and stiffness, mid-flex boards are versatile and suitable for all-mountain riding. They provide enough responsiveness for carving while maintaining some forgiveness for playful or casual riding.

Ability Level: Intermediate

Intermediate snowboards offer more responsiveness and stability at higher speeds, with a slightly stiffer flex for better control on varied terrain and more advanced manoeuvres.

Shape: Directional Twin

A directional twin snowboard has a symmetrical shape but with a slightly shifted stance, making it ideal for riders who want the versatility of a twin for freestyle, with the added stability of a directional design. It performs well both regular and switch but excels in one direction, offering improved control on varied terrain.

At the core of every Bataleon snowboard is the synergy between 3BT™ (Triple Base Technology) and positive camber. This unique pairing solves the long-standing dilemma of achieving edge control without compromising pop or carving ability. By minimizing the risk of edge-catch, riders benefit from smoother, more forgiving turns while still enjoying the powerful energy transfer that camber provides. From this foundation, each model is tuned to fit its intended riding style, making it versatile across conditions and preferences.

The SideKick™ feature takes Triple Base Technology even further by adding extra uplift to the widest sections of the nose and tail. This design tweak transforms the board's tips into hull-like shapes that enhance float in deep snow and allow smoother navigation through rough or variable terrain. SideKick™ also contributes to quicker and more balanced transitions from edge to edge, improving control and flow during both aggressive carves and more playful riding styles.

Another key innovation is Supertubes™—hollow carbon cylinders embedded directly into the board’s core. These reinforcements bolster the camber profile, reduce weight, and significantly boost pop. By adjusting the placement of these tubes, Bataleon can precisely tailor a board’s flex, responsiveness, and energy return, allowing riders to push their limits with confidence while maintaining a light and lively ride feel.

Performance Across Conditions

With a flex rating of 7/10, the Beyond Medals strikes a balance between stiffness and playfulness. This makes it an excellent choice for riders who like to carve groomers, float through powder, and still hit features in the park. Its sintered base ensures top-end speed and durability—perfect for riders pushing boundaries across all terrain types. The board feels locked-in on high-speed turns and offers exceptional stability, yet it's nimble enough to be flicked around when creativity calls.

Rider Feedback / Suitability

The Bataleon Beyond Medals snowboard is best suited for confident intermediate to advanced riders who want a board that thrives in a wide range of conditions—but especially shines when ridden with power and precision. If you love to carve hard, launch side hits, dip into pow stashes, and still hit the park, this board delivers the versatility to do it all without compromise. It’s perfect for riders who demand a responsive, energetic board that can handle high speeds, variable terrain, and technical features with ease. Those who ride with a fast, aggressive style and want something that’s equally capable on and off-piste will benefit most from what the Beyond Medals has to offer. It's not for the faint-hearted—it’s for those who ride hard, ride often, and want a board that won’t hold them back.
